ticket that is available only to travelers visiting Japan from
foreign countries for sight-seeing or if you are a Japanese
national living in a foreign country who is qualified to live
permanently in that country, or who is married to a non-Japanese
residing in a country other than Japan. |

Who can purchase the JAPAN RAIL PASS? |
| |
|
| 1. |
You
are a foreign tourist visiting Japan from abroad for
sight-seeing, under the entry status of "temporary
visitor." |
| 2. |
You are a Japanese
national living in a foreigncountry, |
| a. |
who is qualified
to live permanently in that country, or |
| b. |
who is married
to a non-Japanese residing in a country other than Japan. |

Note:
Persons meeting conditions a or b above must be required
to show proof of same at the point of purchase of an
Exchange Order and obtaining a JAPAN RAIL PASS.
Also note: The former condition about a Japanese national "who
has been living in a foreign country for ten or more years" is
from 1 April 2004 not valid. |

This ticket is not available for
purchase in Japan so you must buy your ticket before you travel. |

The JAPAN RAIL PASS is
not valid for any seats, reserved or non-reserved,
on "NOZOMI" trains
on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines. (The pass holders
must take "HIKARI" or "KODAMA" trains.)
If you use a "NOZOMI," you must pay the basic fare
and the limited express charge, and for a Green Car the Green
Car surcharge. In this case there is no discount because
of JAPAN RAIL PASS. |

On arriving in Japan your JR Pass
Exchange Order can be exchanged for a JR Pass at most major
stations including both terminals of Tokyo Narita International
Airport and Osaka Kansai International Airport. |

JR Pass Exchange Orders are valid
for 3 months from the date of issue so we cannot issue Exchange
Orders more than 3 months before the date you first want to
use them. |

Due to currency fluctuations, the
exchange rate is recalculated on the 1st of every month so
prices can change. |

There will be an issuing charge of 20CHF per
JR Pass. (If you buy the JR Pass together
with an airticket the 20CHF issuing charge won't be charged.) |

If you pay by Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB
or Amex there will be a 3% surcharge. Debit cards are accepted
free of charge so we'd rather you used a debit card or pay
cash to give you more money to spend in Japan! |

In case of cancellation 10% of the
ticket price will be deducted and the issuing charge will not
be reimbursed. There will also be a 20CHF cancellation charge. |
